Chagu Chagu Umakko (June 15)
This annual event marks the close of the rice planting. One hundred horses colorfully attired march in single file from Sozen Shrine in Takizawa to Morioka's Hachiman Shrine, a fifteen kilometers pilgrimage. Upon reaching the shrine, a successful harvest and offer thanks to the horses. As "umakko" (horses) walk, bells attached to their decorations seem to say "chagu chagu."

ヒメボタル、森で光の舞
6月7日 ヒメボタル、森で光の舞
熊本県菊池市の湯舟地区で、ヒメボタルが幻想的な光の舞を繰り広げている。ヒメボタルは米粒ほどの大きさで、森に生息 する。発光する間隔が短く、約０・５秒ごとにチカチカと光を点滅させながら舞う。
